Socrates launches beta testing of innovative social media and entertainment platform for web3 on 12th Sept 2023
We’re excited to announce that as of 12th September 2023, Socrates, a web3 social media and entertainment platform based on the blockchain, has launched for beta testing! Following an extensive planning, we’re set to redefine online interactions by providing a dynamic space for open debate and knowledge sharing.
Who are Socrates?
Socrates enables users globally to earn rewards by easily creating and answering multiple choice questions in-app, discussing any topic, from politics and science, to sports and entertainment. Individuals can also give reasons and like comments to further support their opinions.
Leveraging the potential of web3 technology, the platform utilises an intuitive user interface and blockchain technology to offer an uncomplicated overview of different perspectives across geographical and cultural boundaries. This will help to reduce spam and promote the circulation of valuable and high-quality content.
Uniquely, we’ve created an incentivised model where any interaction contributes to the question’s prize pool. Once a question closes, potential rewards are distributed, which we believe will stimulate meaningful conversations amongst participants.

Our vision is to use technology to explore the power of reshaping the world, whilst contributing to the exploration of a new human civilisation. It’s named “Socrates” because it revolves around the core concept of “multiple-choice questions without standard answers” and embodies the spirit of thinking and discussion.
The product’s main function is to inspire individuals to engage in thought and debate on a range of issues. We aim to counteract the biased and extreme tendencies prevalent in mainstream social media’s approach to societal problems, expanding the boundaries of human thinking to propel human society towards a more rational, inclusive, equal, and open direction.
Not only this, but we aspire to showcase individuals’ diverse perspectives, choices, and debates on different world issues. In doing so, we want to promote mutual understanding and inclusivity among individuals, nations, and countries, whilst fostering healthy competition and lasting peace in human society.

With web2 social media currently directing collective human thoughts and popular AI language technology providing standardised answers, we believe that Socrates will create a revolutionary platform that combats misinformation and offers diverse human thoughts on issues in a secure environment. We’re encouraging new levels of free speech whilst establishing clear community guidelines that prevent harmful or inappropriate content.
We’ve also implemented a user centric-approach to content display. This includes a discover page that shows all content and doesn’t filter our any questions nor tailor content to what we believe users want to see; we’re empowering users to see everyone’s points of view globally, ensuring more honest and open discussions. Nevertheless, we’ve also included a ‘Popular’ tab displaying the most popular topics globally onto a single dashboard. Those that are shown are based on the number of interactions with the question, meaning that our users are the ones that dictate which questions are visible here.
How can you participate?
To participate, you simply need to download the Socrates web app or Android app, and register using your wallet ERC-20 wallet address or email address (don’t worry, our IOS app is coming soon!).
From there, you can easily purchase a pen, which is essentially your key to accessing and using the platform. There are two types of pens, Pioneer Pen (Level 1, 2, 3) and NFT Genesis Pen, where those holding a higher level of Pioneer Pen or NFT Genesis Pen will have access to more benefits.
In order to create any question or interact with a question by answering, commenting, liking, or voting, you must also buy points, which can be exchanged 1:1 with Tether (USDT).
